Assignment: Write a Web Page
One of the most important steps in planning an advertisement, web page, email campaign, or other marketing piece is determining the meaningful benefits. This involves considering the features of your product and what those features help the customer do, solve, achieve, or feel.
For example, say THOMAS ORANGES are on sale at your grocer. The discounted price is a feature. Saving money is the benefit. THOMAS oranges are also organically grown, which is a feature. The benefit to you? You feel good about the produce being grown in an environmentally-responsible manner.
For this assignment, choose a product* you want to write about. It’s okay if that’s from your own business or a client’s. The product can even be imaginary!
Once you’ve made your decision, do the following:
- Make a list of the compelling features of that product. (At least three.)
- Next to each feature, write at least one corresponding benefit.
- Write a short web page highlighting those features and benefits. Aim to bring those benefits to life for the reader. (Minimum 200 words including headline.)
